Where do we play?
Our home ground is at Barks Hut in Belfield, Sydney and we play in the Canterbury Division (CDSFA). We currently have two teams who play in Division 1 and Division 4 in Men's All Age. Both teams are competitive and include players of all nationalities and walks of life. We're an inclusive club and welcome anyone to come and play for us.
In early 2016, two mates were keen to get back into regular football after a year out of the game. With some coaching, leadership (arguably) and administration skills behind them, they recognised the link between their physical and mental health and the benefits of being part of a team unit.
But where would they find an association that did not dictate you need several adult and children's teams already set up and a boat full of money?
Enter the Sydney Amateur Football League (SAFL), an association that welcomed clubs from all regions of Sydney and encouraged flexibility.
MRP FC was born. After initial Gumtree adverts, Meetup posts, word of mouth and trials (all self-funded), we now have a great squad of guys that embarked on an incredible debut season in 2016 winning a handful of honours. In 2017, the side competed in the Canterbury District Association (CDSFA) with two teams in Division 5 and 6. The Division 5 team managed to earn promotion and win the Grand Final whilst the Division 6 side continued to improve throughout the year.
After further success in 2018 and 2019, we now have a team competing in Division 1 and Division 4 in 2020.
At MRP FC we believe that sport should be played in the correct manner on and off the field. We have a strong club culture that represents our values of respect, passion, integrity and friendship.
It is a club that will welcome players of all abilities and backgrounds. In 2019 we have shown this with our two sides demonstrating a strong bond on and off the field.
